This heritage manor is situated 29 km from the famous Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The house was commissioned circa 1900 by Dominic Elwes, a British colonial planter who grew Arabica coffee on the gently sloping hills of his Pattiyagama Estate, in the picturesque Hewaheta Valley
Taylor’s Hill was constructed by a leading British engineering firm, Walker & Greg, based on Mr Elwes’ plans of an English country manor, with large drawing rooms, spacious bedrooms, and balconies, to enjoy the breathtaking views across the hills and valleys.
